On Wednesday , March 7th, We set off to Fota wildlife park leaving the school at 7.15am. A long 3 hours later and we had reached our destination in Cork. We were greeted at the main gates by the zoo workers and they split us into 2 groups and brought us into 2 rooms. We played games and talked about the animals and what we were gonna see.We set off on a walk to the kitchen where they prepare all the animals food. Each animal has a certain diet and foods to stick to, so they really do put a lot of effort into it.
We continued to walk around they park where the public cant go. There was also wallabies jumping around free which was nice to see. We were then allowed into the giraffe house that you wouldn't be able to see if you were just on a day out with your family.
we stopped for lunch in their canteen and outside was wild Peacocks , which were quite scary not gonna lie.
We continued with our tour seeing monkeys , rhinos , spider monkey , gibbons tigers and cheetahs.
I really enjoyed the day and we got to watch a slideshow at the end of all the native irish animals which was very interesting.
We left the zoo and went to Mahon point shopping Centre and had food and looked around for 2 hours then we headed back to Portumna.
