On Monday the 6th of October my class all took part in poetry workshop with Stephen Murray.
We all gathered in room D waiting for Stephen to arrive. At first i didn't know what to think about it because i don't read/write poetry and i find it quite boring. My first impression of him was overall good because he came across as a funny and witty character. He explained to us how his teaching methods are more different to teachers. He connected with us much better and more or less acted our age too.
He got us to write short poems in pairs about anything we wanted funny or sad.
Near the end he showed us a video about being creative and he explained how poetry doesn't just have to be very serious or emotional it can be anything you want it to be and as personal as you want it to be
Overall i thought the workshop was great and stephen has us all laughing and smiling through the entire time. I would recommend this workshop and i would love to do it again.
